I can remember this plastic dye being recommended on Detailing World forum a few years ago. Might be a viable alternative to replacing the trim?

As a temporary fix, some plastic interior trim dressing products might help mask light scratches. Would probably need to be reapplied on a regular basis though to continue masking the scratches.

hi , going to replace the badly scratched plastic area around key ignition , maybe former owner had dimond ring on ?

anyway what is the part name of the pastic part so i can try and replace

It's not from a ring, it's from blindly prodding at the ignition with the key. Ask me how I know... :embarrassed:

clean it with a magic eraser then buy a china graph pencil n colour the marks in. it does actually work this!!
