H'mmmmm, bloody the Post Office.

It's a right pain not having the mic for the stereo, as the unit I have has integrated Parrot handsfree which works really well.

Nick when it gets here I'll turn the bag around with the adjustment key thingamy for the front struts as I found although I'd put it in the car ready, the ever helpful Mrs Hell had pulled it out with the rest of our stuff .

Still no mic. I am travelling back on the hovercraft with four OEM struts though. There are all new front top mounts and dampers at the new workshop waiting to go with then too. Can't wait!

Wiring is usually bad on the parrot, i use that system for work. It sems to have a mind off it's own. Make sure it has strong connections(solders, no spliced lines).

You've missed the point - the Parrot system is integrated into the Alpine headunit.  This one.

It's a great little headunit IMO.

The mic is just on a jack and simply plugs in the back, but it's on the post *somewhere* in the UK, from when Nick and I swapped cars.

Looks to be something like that.

In other, more significant news, the car is now on new dampers all round and OEM height springs, with new top mounts and bumpstops front and back, too.

It's now ridin' tight and high - ideal for fast road driving.  It is actually much firmer than it was on the soggy lowering springs

I also fitted a wiper to the tailgate, which is ace and re-fitted the front numberplate with screws, after it fell off a little while back.

As I had some time after all this I had a rummage about down the back of the engine bay and I think I've substantially reduced the vibration, after re-shaping the heat shield, with was touching the exhaust.

As this is a holistic project, the effect of all this improvement is that the electric windows have stopped working

Just been out after a quick rummage on the Corrado Forum.  Turns out the electric windows and central locking is on a fuse off the main fuseboard, which is clipped on the top of the relay, completely out of sight.  Somehow that had blown (probably during operations on the rather complex tailgate).  Stuffed a new 20A fuse in there and windows and locking are back in the game.

Did the bloke up rookley give you a price for your subframe then say "plus vat"
Gotta laugh at vat on scrap.

Heh, you'll be referring to Adey at Battersby Cycles.  Unfortunately he didn't have a subframe.

Unusually I didn't get 'vatted' by Finchy at Rookley - that ruse wears thin after a while and I guess it's been a while since he last got stiffed by HM Customs and Excise.

Looks to be something like that.

Surely a cheap mic will work off ebay/Maplins.
