Bought alligators, had them sent to the dealers to get fitted.  Did a bit more research, became concerned about possible dirt building up behind and causing whiteworm (think I read this on here somewhere), also saw a picture of them on the austins on an irish Facebook page.  Decided to get them sent back.  I think i've done the right thing?  I suppose in answer to the thread thats 'nothing then'.

You've done the right thing.

Today I checked the tracker. VW UK told me Weds I was looking at BW18 again, but were unsure if the tracker would update on Good Friday, being a common bank holiday to both the UK and Germany. It has updated - BW18 locked in.

I gave my GTD it's first wash, polish & wax.
Treated the windows with gtechniq G1+2.
I've been dying to get this done since I picked up on Monday.. today was the first dry day & all my supplies arrived in the post this morning which was perfectly timed!

Walking back to the car I noticed what can only be described as 2 rather large stone dents on the bonnet. Is the paint really that soft????

In the early days, yes it is. Got 4 sizeable paint chips in my first 3 months of ownership, and not a single one since. Coincidence, or incomplete curing at the factory?

Drove it for 75 miles today on mixed roads.

It got better and better. Ride improved considerably, Soundaktor calmed down, Dynaudio sounded better and better, acceleration kept improving, my love for the car kept increasing though not quite to the BMW level (give it time, I hope), the handling was bloody marvellous and the DNS was totally brilliant. However, not as refined as the BMW.

I would say it is a very good car.
