help !! lost 1st/ 2nd and reverse

hi   car has been fine then today iv lost 1st 2nd and now reverse, it feels like theres nowt there at all, i did have reverse butnow its not going in but feels like somthing is chewed up.  any ideas please. ps its a 130 gttdi 6 speed

Sound like linkage to me but I don't know anything about that setup

looking on here everyone is on about the selector fork, but would that make reverse go aswell

My selector fork went on an old mk4 of mine, all I could was 3rd gear. Needed a new gear box 

The garage managed to weld it up so I could had 4 gears to use for a week or then had new box put in.

It will probably be the rivet on the selector shaft that has gone, quite a common fault on the 6 speed box.

It is repareable but the box will need stripping down to do it.
