the water drains away ok from the passenger side but nothing from the drivers side pipe ,but the water comes out underneath behind the drivers front wheel on the right ,is it doing any harm ?

Just to be on the safe side, I'd run some wire from the sunoof drainage hole all the way down to the rubber nipple (above the door hinge) to clear any blockages. This will ensure that you don't get a build up of water in the footwell!
