Title: Base model courtesy car has in dash maps!
Post by: M6TT F on 15 December 2021, 08:32: Just dropped my CS in to have a new steering wheel, hopefully it cure the endless bongs. The courtesy car is a fairly standard 70 plate, running 1668 software, and has the in dash maps. Does this mean all 1668 software cars have it? Can’t believe mine doesn’t have it. Yes I know you can activate via the app thing, but If it can be done via the dealer…

I wrote a post about this a few months ago. My friend got a GTE and when it arrived it had in dash maps, in then had a software update and the functionality was disabled.

What do you mean regarding activating it with the app?

The early Mk8's (so non performance) all came with "free" navpro.

i asked the dealer and they said they would have to speak to VW as never seen it before - in fact, that was their default reply to most things.
The heated seat on passenger side stopped working - we'll have to speak to VW about that as never seen it before
Display often went blank or displayed "not available" - we'll have to speak to VW about that as never seen it before
The reverse camera didn't always open - we'll have to speak to VW about that as never seen it before

they then sent a customer satisfaction survey..... oh how i enjoyed filling that out - but they didn't reply which kinda sums it up really!
