Mk3 Gti Crank sensor?
« on: 30 September 2008, 23:20 »
Hi, I am having problems with my 95 Gti (ADY) bogging down under acceleration and hunting/misfiring slightly when idling. I had it on diagnostics and it had a Crank sensor fault.

After replacing the crank sensor the car ran and pulled fine for 50 miles and has now started bogging down and running badly again.

Has anyone every experienced any similar problem or knows of anything that could be causing the sensor to break?

I didn't clear the codes after fitting the sensor, could this have anything to do with it?

Please help its doing my nut in!!!

did mine on my abf 16valve about 2 weeks ago
a right pig of a job when i eventuly got it out
the wireing near the sensor had split open and the bare
wires were rubbing together every now and then
causing bad runing every now or then usaly
after driveing for an hour or so stoping then
restarting the car it would drive like crap for couple of mins
then would be alrite but it just got worse the more i used it
its fixed  now the cars a hundred percent beter if you get
a new sensor get it from eurocar  parts not vw its the same part
but not in a vw box

Cleared codes, still gettin same fault code again. Blaggin another sensor foc. Try that and if it f**ks up its off to vw with it. They can fit a vw one and if it f**ks up after that then i just won't pay em!
