Most importantly, no one else was involved, and I walked away from it without a scratch on me! I'm sad that it's the end for the girl, especially as her credentials are fantastic, but she held up when it really mattered, and I'm grateful for it! Bless her, even after this, she still starts up without hesitation
Worryingly, there appears to have been at least two other crashes in exact the same spot (judging by a graveyard of car trim, wheels and smashed up trees)! I highlighted this to the highways agency, and he said that it happens quite a lot, as if there is a oily residue on the road, quite often it's presence can be felt, long after the initial spill, resulting in these 'black spots' for accidents
