VAGCOM help
« on: 07 March 2008, 20:09 »
Right I have a cable off ebay and I am trying to get VAGCOM 409 to run on it so I can fault code read, problem is when I plug it in and try and read anything I am getting No Response from Controller appear and it won't run through anything.  I have tried altering the COM ports in device manager and matching the VAGCOM settings to it but no luck, any experts out there who can help??

I have indeed, all installed fine, the comp recognises them and when I test in VAGCOM it recognise them, however when I try to do anything in VAGCOM I get the above issues.

you havent got an aftermarket headunit have you mate? there can be issues if the original radio is removed cause it has something built in to do with diagnostics apparently. the way around it is to cut the wire to pin 3 of the black connector. mine got no comms if this wansn't done. hope that helps

well it was like 7months ago, i changed the driver to a 3rd party one and it started to work.  but there could be a problem with ur CAN port. try it in another vw to make sure.

does the little light come on when you plug it into your car?

It does indeed light up and a fault code reader works in the OBD port on my car.
