Boost leak test

Hi can anybody give me any advice on getting my ARL checked for boost leaks ? Is there any usual places they have probs ? I did put the bottom intercooler pipes on both sides last year as they had a slight oil leak . I'm close to manchester/ stockport if anybody can recomend anybody that can do it for me ?
I did have a search but it fetched up to many lol . Is there a how to ive missed anywhere ?

Basically testing around all IC pipe work joints, even as far back as the turbo. Once you get in and around those joints you will be able to see if you are loosing boost.

Look for split/old small silicone vacuum hoses and check they are all pressed up against their respective valves.

Best to take to the bumper of to be able to get to the lower IC pipes, and maybe even your near side, (I think near side ) wheel to get to the pancake pipe and turbo

You have a PD150 right? if so no need to take the bumper off, raise front of car up, drop undertray and side panels (you don't even have to remove sidepanels for visable inspection) but I advise you do to take the pipes off and clean/inspect seals and clips.

Not much I don't know about this now, been chasing boost leaks on mine since I've owned it, pretty much all new pipes etc on it now 

layout of pipes from turbo as follows...

Turbo > Red boost hose > Aluminium pancake pipe > O/S boost hose > Intercooler > N/S boost hose > Large plastic pipe with MAP sensor in (runs up around engine) > EGR boost hose > EGR

COMPONENTS:

Intercooler - 1J0145803H - apx £264 + VAT
MAP sensor - 038906051A - apx £44 + VAT

PIPES:

Turbo boost hose - 1J0145828R or 1J0145822E (dep on chassis no) - apx £80 / £112 + VAT
Pancake pipe - 1J0145762BF - £88.54 + VAT
O/S intercooler boost hose - 1J0145834AA - £53.42 + VAT
N/S intercooler boost hose - 1J0145834AE - £35.95 + VAT
Plastic boost pipe runs from N/S boost hose to EGR boost hose - 1J0145770AB - apx £152 + VAT
EGR boost hose - 1J0145838AG - apx £44 + VAT

CLIPS:

Clips for red turbo boost pipe, 2 required - 1J0145769 - £1.11 + VAT
Clip for O/S boost hose to pancake pipe - 1J0145769A - £1.10 + VAT
Clip for intercooler to N/S & O/S boost hoses, 2 required - 1J0145769H - £0.84 + VAT
Clip for N/S boost hose to plastic boost pipe - 1J0145769G - £0.46 + VAT

SEALS:

Seal for red turbo pipe, 43.95mm, 2 required - 3C0145117 - £3.67 + VAT
Seal for O/S & N/S boost hoses, 61.90mm, 3 required (2 for O/S and 1 for N/S) - 3C0145117H - £3.67 + VAT
Seal for N/S boost hose, 57,85mm, 1 required (fits smaller side of hose) - 3C0145117F - £4.92 + VAT
Seal for EGR boost hose, 57,85mm, 2 required - 3C0145117F - £4.92 + VAT

Additional info...
* hoses when bought new include seals
* pancake pipe when bought new comes with clips and mounting grommet
* there are 3 sizes of seals; small 43.95mm, medium 57,85mm and large 61.90mm
* revised seals; newer type seals are green in colour, the older were are black
* revised clips; original ones on turbo for example (1J0145769) had rounded edges which meant boost pipe could pop off, advise fit new version if you have original.

Cheers, updated it slightly to include what size seal fits where.
I did plan on doing a guide with photos but time was getting on last time I was under there fitting new parts, if anyone does want pics though let me know and I'll get on it.

I'm sorry to open an old thread. My dad has a MK4 Golf PD 150 and he needs a new turbo pipe replacing but I'm unsure which one he requires as there's loads of different ones.

The mechanic says it's the lower turbo pipe located behind the radiator, can anyone confirm which one he requires please?
