Haha not as bad as a TT eh Craig?!

I want to try 4WD but can't talk myself into paying an extra £100 pm for a Golf R, as good as it will probably be - don't fancy another Golf unless the Clubsport turns out to be a bit edgy.
Don't like the S3 - dull as dishwater.

So that leaves the S1, and I'm not looking at new. There are a few upto 1yr old which are well specced  (leather, bose, 18's, comfort pack, nav etc) that have taken a hammering on depn and look good value for a 1yr old Audi.
Current - Mk7 Golf GTI w/performance pack
Previous - VW Golf Mk6 GTD, Ford Fiesta ST, BMW M135i, VW Golf MK5 GTI

  you did ask for opinions. S3 is far better looking than the S1. The rear of the S1 is just awful.

Have you driven the S1? I found it just as dull as most Audi's.

Didn't know the s1 wasn't mqb. I liked it up until then. The new polo is tho isn't it?

Nope, but it has been extensively tweaked to improve things.

My ACC seems to be working very well in the driving rain - never seen the <car>!<car> symbol on as much in the whole time i've had the car as I have today. The last calibration of the ACC system is much improved, but i've still had one "limited view" warning since calibration - that's one message too much.

Sand in the carpet! That'll be there forever.

Ranks just below glitter, for being a PITA to get out of car carpet.  Never, ever  let your kid(s)  have ANYTHING in the car with glitter on.

Having some upgraded AP/Ferrodo DS2500 pads fitted to the R ahead of next weeks track day

Hopefully a little test session later at Curborough to see how they feel

A pretty good way to make the drive home a bit more entertaining!
