GTI Build Dates - Anyone got one yet?

1. 14 weeks since order placed, still no build week.
2. No explanation.
3. No surprise.

Oh dear, I only ordered on July 6th. I guess I can forget a 2013 delivery date then judging by what I have been seeing here?

Shame, had been looking forward placing my first new vehicle order ever for quite a while and now it looks like being quite the opposite of what I expected.

My BW28 GTI finally went to 'in transit' today - it appears BW28 also includes the shutdown weeks, where I'm told production continues but at a reduced capacity.

Great news Neil. My 5dr GTi (Also in Pure White) was also confirmed for BW28, but unlike yours my has NOT gone into Transit which is a bit odd seeing that yours has??? 

The wait continues... Lets hope its a glitch in the system

I'm sure it won't be long. Another guy earlier in this thread had his BW28 change to in transit last week, so looks like its a bit of a slow trickle of cars coming off the production line during 'shutdown'.

You won't see a build week on the tracker mate, you need to ask your dealer or VWCS for an update.

Ahh ok, im in limbo then, all i see on that tracker is the processing your order, for the last 14 weeks lol..

Few weeks back it was 35 wasn't it?  Did they give any reason at all why the already unacceptable lead time has been delayed by a whole further month?!?!  And why even give an estimate if it then turns out to be this seriously wrong?  That's not an estimate, that's a hope or a dream.  FFS VW get your act together.

I am getting pretty worried that this rear camera thing is causing us months of new delays despite them saying it only affects new July orders and we ordered in April.  I'm getting really really close to asking for some kind of further discount to compensate for this sh!t.

Your right bill, im sure it the damn rear cam... not sure how much more patience i have left , i might just cancel and take a look at the bmw instead
