If its in production then they'll finish it before shutdown right?  So what's stopping them shipping?  Its crazy!

Anyone who gets under 5 months is extremely lucky I think.  On my current estimates it will be best case scenario 20 weeks (near 5 months) from my order date to my BW... and its at least another month for delivery.

So that's a 6 month order time (best case) when I was told 3 months when I placed the order, well over the VW "maximum" of 20 weeks I was even recently assured they would not go over.  And they still can't confirm (or apparently even guess) when the car will be built.

I'm the same as you Bear - best estimate is 20 weeks to delivery, but more realistically I'm looking at 22.

If I assume 4 weeks from BW to getting the keys I'm now at 25 weeks minimum.  i.e. assuming I get confirmed BW37 (which I think is the next week to confirm now though the shutdown adds uncertainty here).

I feel like calling my dealer for a chat.

I'm looking at around 18-19 week order too (although I expect longer). However I'm only working on an estimated BW 42.

I know we're all bellyaching but it is a long, long time to wait isn't it!

It certainly is!  I think if I'd have been told September delivery when I ordered in April, I'm not sure I'd have gone ahead.  But, we are where we are and I guess it won't be long now for my confirmed BW32 car to get built.

Yep its too long a wait.  I had to wait 20 weeks for my mk 6 but I had hoped they'd bucked their ideas up this time around.  They haven't!  Trouble is we've all got to suck it up and take it on the chin ( ) and just wait.  Annoyingly for all of us we should have our cars now to enjoy driving in this weather as it ain't gonna last!!

There is one upside for this painful wait !

Supply and demand means many dealers can't deliver anyone else's cars until next year which means residuals should be strong for a good while for us early adopters

That is the only upside really though!

I've been enquiring about a couple of pre-registered M135i's as I'm getting so pissed off waiting now.

Yes it's annoying and pissy-offy, but if you want a car and wanted specifically a GTI, why quit now?  Quitting and getting nothing at all, I get that, but not switching to another car just because of the wait.

I was torn between the M135i/Focus ST3 and GTI when I ordered. The GTI was obviously my favourite as I ordered one, the Focus was a distant third place, but I have always loved the M135i and even now it's a little out of my budget but it's getting considered due to the mess that is volkswagen's ordering to delivery situation.
