Welcome!

I had a mk6 GTI back in 2009 with one of the very first REVO maps for that engine. Money very well spent!
I had another a couple years later and put a Bluefin map on it just to see how different it was.

Rtech are good I’d think, they’ve been doing their thing for a while now.
Stage 1 is as much as you’d need for road use but if things are wearing out then replacing with uprated and going stage 2 will give you that little bit more.
Personally I’d stick with stage 1.

I’m also considering doing a stage 1 for my mk6 - what is actually done to get it fully stage 1 ? Also is it possible to eradicate wheel shudder when accelerating in first 1st n 2nd gear ? As noticed it a lot on my car thanks

Stage 1 is just an ECU flash.

To eliminate wheel hop you’ll need to do the bushes, not a bad idea to do them anyway if the car has done a few miles

I had mine done in 2016 with R-Tech, see below for the graph.  My standard BHP was measured at 220 on Shell V Power, this was boosted to 255.

However, if you are getting this done, upgrade your coil packs at the same time, I had one fail the very next day.

The other "downside" so to speak is that I now have to fill up only with Tesco Momentum or Shell V Power fuel.  I was told that filling up with standard 95 fuel would hurt the engine.

what coil pack would you recommend? Would spark plugs need changing too ?

Please let me know how you get on ? Will you install it yourself? Or get a garage to do it ?
