Just got myself a set of 18s, they're in need of a refurb as the lacquer is peeling on the diamond cut surface but I intend to paint that surface the shadow chrome (the same colour as my wheels now) and the inside surface in satin black. They also need a couple of new tyres so I managed to get them for a decent price off a certain someone

this is how they stand at the mo

I've also picked up a short shift for the bargain price of £15. The only problem with this kit is it doesn't accept a standard gearknob but I've found a gearknob on ebay for £8 delivered which I'll be playing with to make it fit as I want to keep it looking as standard as possible

I've also had news back on my headunit, bad news. The display is dead and not likely to be able to be repaired unless I can find the right part so it will be going up on ebay for spares or repair. I've just bought this to replace it though...

should be here and fitted by the end of the week

Right a decent update as it's been a while

Firstly I've emptied out my catch can and this is the result

It looks like it's doing the job and stopping all this crap from going back into the intake so I'm happy

I also fitted my K03s which was a complete nightmare with just axle stands and not something I want to do again. I didn't get many pics as I just wanted to get it finished but here are a few I managed to take

I also found the reason why my exhaust had been banging on the floor, buy cheap buy twice...

My black/silver net optic interior trim arrived yesterday and was fitted straight away (also showing my new headunit)

And finally the ECU has now been remapped by R-Tech. I'm just waiting for an N75 valve to turn up as my H valve is no good for the new map.

Here's an HDR pic I managed to take on the local ice rink with my mate's Canon, enjoy

Got her up and running again, and I love how it goes with the R-Tech map on board!

Will report back on the power and torque figures next week and also the graph...

as always, things never go to plan. While I was partaking in some "spirited driving" the clutch decided to make a horrible grinding noise and since then has slipped whenever the revs go over 3500. I knew the clutch wasn't going to like the remap but I didn't think it would be this soon. The clutch only has 57k on it but I guess that's what a life of driving on the island does. Consequently I couldn't run the Golf on the rollers at JKM which was a big disappointment but such is life.

Anyways the solution to this is the famous G60/VR6 clutch/flywheel combo. I already have the G60 flywheel (the same as the 16v ABF Golf engine) and I am ordering the clutch and the bolts this week.

Just in case you hadn't seen it in another topic I found this when I changed my spring over in the Forge DV

The missing bit has long gone, it's probably sat in the intercooler somewhere lol. Had a quick check and no damage to any of the inlet blades so a very lucky escape I think

Anyways here is my new Techniclutch kit

I've also picked up the bolts needed to fit it today and the flywheel will be done at work at some point this week

Won't be getting it fitted for at least 2 weeks as I'm broke lol

Fitted my carbon fibre airbox today (and yes it is 100% real carbon fibre)

just waiting on some silicone hose to fit to the other end so I can run it to the gap at the front of the inner wing to get some nice cold air

Also gone back to my standard grille
