Retrim interior
« on: 13 July 2004, 11:44 »
Can anyone tell me who's the best in the business in the Middlesex area for retrim of interiors for Mk1 Cab? Looking for custom job to be done... or do I have to travel to get a top quality job done?

MJ interiors get some good feed back and I'm talking feedback in Golf+ mags and the like. If you can get hold of last months with the red sportline they re-trimmed the interior and it looks tops, the downside ? They are in Bradford, West Yorkshire.  :(

I've just looked at there web site, looks very professional, pricing isn't too bad either, but like you say it's miles away.  :( I'll try and get hold of last months mag to review the cab..

Don't bother, you'll only cry :'( like I did, it's spotless, looks like it's never been driven, even down to the sump being painted red I think it was. It is a really nice A1 dogs danglies cab.  :)

Does the owner drive the cab or is it a show car only...

I think he does drive it but I doubt it's his daily driver and if I remember rightly he'd only just completed the full resto just before the article in Golf+ as they saw it at a show and shine and asked if they could do an article on it.  :)

fare enough, a good person to speak to them.... :) If it's that good, might have to start going to the next few shows to view it and maybe get speaking to the owner...

Got to say this forum is one of the best for great advice and friendly people....

Aye get to the shows, even if the sportline isnt there there are always loads of people in the show and shines that you can speak to. I was at GTi festival at santa pod on Sunday and there were at least three mk1 cabs that I can remember seeing in the show and shine and they were very nice too. Chromed engines, leather interior, the lot, some real quality on show.  :)

Keep your eye on the shows and events section on the forum and also look at the Events link on the main golfgti.co.uk homepage, jv does a pretty good job of keeping them up to date and you can see when the future events are and also look at some photos from past events.  :)
