Hi, the car is a 1994 mk3 GTI 16v ABF.
On a run out the oil light flashed, so I stopped and turned the car off. Then, when I tried to restart it, it died after 2 or 3 seconds - throttle or no throttle. There are no leaks under the car - oil and coolant levels as they should be.
So I was towed home and put the car away in the garage. The next morning, when the car was cold, it started fine and runs perfectly. Could it have been a faulty oil pressure switch stopping the car running when it gets hot (the ECU protecting the engine, thinking the oil pressure is incorrect)?
Does the ABF have two oil pressure switches? If so, which one is it most likely to be?
Any other ideas/pointers/advice welcome. Thanks in advance.
