hi i have a 1.8 mk3 golf driver my heaters are not blowing hot i have been told to check the heater controle valve but i cant find anything that resembles one can anybody help me locate it or have any other ideas of the problem im prity sure its not the thermostat as car gets to temp fine and dose not over heat i have bled the system so its not a clog

no heater control valve on a mk3, coolant passes thru matrix at all times. check coolant level as a first step. does the heater knob feel liek it has resistance behind it and/or can you hear the flap move inside the airbox

coolant level is fine no airlock or blockage as ts been flushed and es the nob dost have resistance and can hear it there is a verry slight difrance in temp aswel

sounds liek you need another matrix, its possible the warm air flap has broken down as well, over time the foam falls off and you're left with a metal flap with 3 big holes in it

thanks for your help i have had bits of foam come from the blowers is the flap easy to get to ?

i have just removed my heater matrix the flap is fine and the matrix is fine to the best of my knolage (how would i know its not working) iv atached it to a house tap and water flows threw fine it heats up a lil (i asume only a little as it was a house tap ) im stumped an dot want to put the dash back in to find it is the matrix

matrix could still be partially clogged, best to buy a new one anyway while its all apart. if that still doesnt help then its gotta be waterpump or stat fault?
