turbo removed, oil starved. help

from looking at the turbo it seems like it was starved of oil that is why it went pop.

is there away of checking oil is getting pumped around OK?  as i dont wanna put this new turbo on.

check the oil pickup pipe in the sump if its blocked then you need to unblock it if the damage aint already done the pickup pipe gettin blocked cost me a new engine it was on a 400 mile treck so didnt really know till it was to late hope this helps you  :wink:

i think i'am starting to hear my turbo going sounds like it is metal on metal will check this tomorrow is it just pulling out the pipe from the sump to see if it is blocked not taking all of the pipe out from the turbo as it looks abit cramped and hard to get too

If you are worried about pipes being blocked replace them don't chance the charger and always replace them if you change the turbo :afro:

is the oil feed ok? As per what Neil said, spend a bit of time and money making sure the oil flow is healthy, it will be cheaper in the long run :wink:

oil pickup was blocked :(  all fine now.  thank god i checked it.

hi maxxih was it the in feed oil pipe i have checked the return feed pipe that goes to the sump and that was ok and if it was the infeed what it easy to get at from the top of the bonnet

Just out of interest what oil were you using and how often did you change it?

sump off job to get at the pick up isnt it?..
