alright.....dont think its an actual starter motor problem but whats happening is......whn you turn the key the car struggles to turn over like the battery is flat. but i asure you it isnt. it like there isnt enough charge going to it from the battery. is this just a wiring issue? cause tbh i can remember changing the starter and thinkin those wires look a bit fooooked. plus ive taken off the gbox earth cleaned it up and still the same any ideas?

remove all the starter, battery and alternator wires, buff em all up till shiny and refit

Hi there
If you look on here for my post, I have the same problem, did all the cleaning of connection etc but did not resolve.... Just had my starter motor refurbed yesterday and to my surprise it was knackered, got it back half an hour ago so not had chance to refit to see if this has solved the problem..... Hoping it has
May be same problem, mine went from turning slowly to just clicking...

sound that. well ill take off the wiring and smarted it up. the + to the starter is frayed and is pretty knackered to be fare so i might change it if that dosnt help then ill swap the starter for shiney new one.

Battery as new in January 2011....
Should be fine but I would still get it tested you could have a faulty cell.

Was doing the same with the old battery just before Christmas to be fair, if this ain't it any other places to start checking..
Thanks

Hi
Put up a picture of the wires connected to the starter solenoid.

Have you tried jumping it with leads to see if it your battery, I was sure it wasn't my battery and it turns out it was, didn't help that the king lead was arking also
Jumped it with X5 today still struggled to start for a good few turns but turned much quicker, try it and see, I feel a right plonker after putting my life on it that it was not the battery
Starts like a dream now as I had the starter motor refurbed anyway cos that was damaged also.....
Good luck mate
