I can’t decide between black or red for the front and rear GTD badges :nerd: what have others done/ recommend?

I’d go for black, as there are no other red accents on the exterior of the GTD to match in with red badges. However, if you’ve got the sport and sound pack option with the red brake calipers, I’d consider going for the red ones.

I have a white GTI and went for just black badgeskins on the rear. The front badge looks great as it is against the black grille. Here are some pictures:

I like the black against the white! Any pic of the front badge?

I have red badge skins on mine (front, back and wings), although mine is Limestone Grey. I think the red stands out a little more :)
-
I've gone for Red and my GTD is pure white too.

Be good to see so pics if you don’t mind ?

I've said black as (although I don't see anything wrong with it) I reckon if you went red, all you would get is people saying "He's trying to make it look like a GTI"
-
Voted black. 'Cos it's an oil burner!
-
No option to leave it standard

My front badge is just standard, it stands out against the black grille more if left as chrome.

I would but I don't have my car yet it's still on order.
Personally I don't care if people think I'm trying to turn it into a GTI because I'm not, clearly it says GTD. I just think the red looks sportier and stands out better. Besides what's wrong with having red it may be an oil burner but it's a sport variant so why not highlight it as such. Just IMO.
-
I personally would remove the GTI badges, makes it look much sleeker IMO. If my car wasn't a lease I'd remove mine.

For a GTD I agree with everything you’ve said Jason, with a JB4 you’ll be giving standard GTIs a run for their money anyway . For a GTI though if it’s not a PP then red badge skins are a no no IMO.

I've got red badgeskins on my non-PP as I wanted them to match the other red bits on the car. I have always debadged my cars in the past but didn't feel I could do that to a GTI.
I don't think you're alone in that view though hog_hedge and I do need to avoid eye contact if someone spots that my calipers don't have GTI on them haha. Maybe I should upgrade the brakes, and add the diff... or maybe I should have just waited for the PP to come out!
Anyway, I've voted red but I think red or black will look great.

I voted red as that's what I had on my old white GTD, and think the Red really contrasted well with the paint (and colour matched the Red calipers)

Red looks cheap and tacky.
It looks a bit too Vauxhall

In you're opinion of course.

Think I’m going to go for black on the rear and sides. Thieving about getting gloss black mirror caps too

I went for red when I did mine. Not trying to imitate anything, just looks good against the grey imo
