Title: GTD Lead and delivery Time
Post by: JasonGTD on 05 April 2018, 18:08
Hey All,

Curious how long it took from date of order until delivery, my dealer quoted up to 12 weeks.

How long did yours take?

Lead times may vary slightly depending on options.

I ordered mine at the end of September and was quoted 10 to 12 weeks for delivery. That would have taken it to mid December worst case.

However the dealer was on the phone first week in November to tell me they'd have the car in stock later that same week and asking when i'd like to take delivery. I told them I was in no rush, and collected the car first week in December. So 11 weeks in total, but if i'd pushed them in probably could have had it in about 7 weeks. Mine is a 5 door manual with metallic paint, heated screen and reversing camera as only options.

Cheers Guzzle, it will be interesting to see what duration it takes, I've only gone for Excie Sound system, parking assist and rear camera. The 3 door may take longer and paint is pretty simple being white.

The car is not yet loaded on the tracker so no idea how long that normally takes?

Off topic, but related to VW delivery times. Anyone ordering a new Polo GTI is currently being quoted 42 weeks from time of order to delivery, so delivery early next year!

Sounds a bit like the early waiting times on the mk7 Golf GTI and GTD models when they were first launched.

42 weeks !!! OMG.

Does anyone know how long it takes for the car to appear on the tracker once an order is placed?
