What have you done to your MK 7 today ?

Ill look into the assist spring - I can’t believe how soft the pedal is. It’s even more noticeable after driving the golf and getting into another car with a ‘ normal’ weighted pedal.


How thick is the bump stop out of interest?

About 3 thick washers plus the top. The pedal is better without the assister spring but once it's off you'll not be able to get it back on... Mine was making a pinging noise each release too so I was very happy to get rid of that.

Not mine but gave Andy28's lovely Mk7.5 GTI a deep clean and sealed in 2 coats of Polish Angel Master Sealant

It's pretty difficult to be sure as my eyes aren't what they once were About 10mm though.

That sounds fine. It might be worth considering attaching something to the back of the pedal, it might be easier.
