do you really not think ill need the comps in the rear? will it still be as loud without??
whats wrong with the type R sub? can you recommend a better one

no - you won't need the comps in the rear - save yourself some money and spend it on one of these instead...

no point in doing any installation unless you sound deaden...

ok thanks for the suggestions, dynamat seems a good investment, and im thinking about changing the type r sub and amp for a jl 1000 mono and a w7 sub, but if i do this wont the bass kill my single rainbow comps up front, ive already got the v power amp for them at 90w rms??

no - because you would set the amp to the right levels... this is why a professional install makes all the difference... the rainbows are able to handle it anyway and they aren't 'bassy' speakers

your head unit will be able to control the sub level anyway... but have you thought about this... http://www.alpine-europe.com/index.php?id=digital_media_receiv&L=0 - if you have an ipod it's well worth considering... my current alpine sucks at ipod control

measure in decibels and not 'watts' or whatever

thanks mate your a big help, im defo gunna invest in some dynamat, im actually considering an alpine monitor now, i am tempted to go for the 500/1 mono amp and a 12" w6 sub to save the expense, will this still give good bass power? think it delivers 500w rms

you don't have to do it all at once if you don't have the cash... I haven't... but if you want decent sounds it's worth waiting a wee while and getting some more bang for your bucks!
