Thank you Peter  as for the hazards no nothing definitive it's in for service nxt Saturday and on the list to be checked so I will report back any findings.

Although I did notice last nite when I got back to the car when I started it up the display was showing the boot open and I noticed the inner lights not illuminated quick press on the lid and the lights came on and the display cleared so it's got me thinking may have been that.
I think I mentioned I checked on my app and the cars battery level was steady all wk at around 12.7 v.
Will double check issue with dealers Saturday

The boot not being properly latched sounds like the answer, I'm pretty sure it'll be fine and at worst the latch may need a minor adjustment.

Worked on Andy28's white MK7.5 GTI this weekend. It had not been protected from new so was suffering from severe tar spots and tiny rust dots, often caused from iron particles. The lower side of the car and tailgate were the worst affected areas.

Car was pre washed, then snow foamed then hand washed. I used glue and tar remover then set about claying the whole car. This took a long time as the rust spots were hard to remove but after nearly 2 hours the car was starting to look good. Engine bay was cleaned. I then hand polished the car using Auto Finesse Tipple, before applying 2 coats of Polish Angel Master Sealant which should protect the car for up to 12 months. Wheels were cleaned and spray wax applied. Tailpipes were treated with glue and tar removed then polished using Carbon Collective metal polish and finally sealed with Platinum Wheels. Interior was fully cleaned and the windows were sealed.

Another great job Jim Andy28 must be over the moon! Perfect example too of why it's so important to decontaminate - showed my OH so she could see why I use all the products I do. I think she took it in but the rolling of the eyes had me a bit confused
