Just rang VW customer services.

They say I need to pop in to a VW dealer when I receive my log book and they need to add me to the system as the new owner of the vehicle. I then need to wait for a letter from VW (I guess its some welcome letter?) before my plaque is sent to me.

Is that normal?

Not normal for me!
I rang VW Customer Services, after checking their computer, they said they would pass my details on, and not bother sending a letter out. A week later it came through!!

All gone since 2001 some forgotten. Porsche Boxster/Cooper S Works/Merc CLK/Gti MK5/ Audi TT/ GTi Ed 30/BMW 123d/Ford Kuga/GTi Ed 35. All new all lost money, some a lot more than others.(except edition 35 which lost nothing  in 9 months other than its wings, suspension, roof etc))

How soon did you do it after buying your car???
Ive had mine about a week and a half now - wondering whether its because I havent received the log book from the DVLA yet?......

Bought the car in September.
Rang VW about three weeks ago, badge arrived a week later.
Might be the case that their records have  not yet been  updated.

Received the plaque today, volkswagen Germany and letter, number funny in spain the number is sexy. :grin: :grin:

Hi, asi bought mine second hand from a vw dealer, the other week i do not have this plaque? any ideas of how i can get it as im not sure they would give me the previous owners contact details!

I have called twice now and have been told the same thing that I have to wait - but how come some folk seem to be just phoning up and they are getting them sent straight out?
