I called em to chase and they asked if I'd recieved a letter to which I said no... so they are resending the letter and then I have to call up and confirm the details... even though I've already confirmed the details.... She told me I had to wait for letter yet couldn't give answer as to why...

I never received the letter either and they accepted a phonecall as confirmation of details.

I have to say vw dont seem to have a clue.It seems to vary on who you are lucky enough(or unlucky)to speak to at customer services!
I did'nt do any of the above, plaque just turned up in the post.I know i was one of a few to contact vw on the over-run in jan/feb and made my views known..

I phoned vw customer services in the beginning of november without receiving a letter.  They confirmed my details and told me to expect the plaque in 2 weeks.  Still haven't received a letter or plaque, so i rang them again and apparently i have to wait for the letter before i get a plaque.  Also, apparently, "there are only 500 plaques being made"

oh, and the car was ordered in the beginning of November (2006), was on our shores by beginning of Jan 2007 (i think) and waited till Marchto take it away (oh the wait...bringing back bad memories!)

Thats exactly when I ordered mine... the first one that is, which I sold back to a dealer.  Interested to see what number you get.  Also I don't see VW can only produce 500 plaques - maybe the guy meant 1500 but even then there are people here with plaques above that number.  My 57 plate Ed 30 is 1085 so I can see how they've only got 500 plaques.
