Just a business hire car, gotta use hire cars when away from work.  Looking forward to it instead of the usual sloppy Peugeot, or last time it was a Fiesta 1.25 Zetec (gutless).

Be interesting to see what you get..... The one I have had for the last 2 days seems to hate using fuel.

I think on A road 50-60 mph commute 90mpg would be possible with this thing I have been driving.

I take everything back about what I said of the 1.6 tdi.

On the motorway today at 70mph it was doing around the 70mpg mark........

Is the OP talking Bluemotion or Bluemotion Tech?

I had the latter earlier on this year and it was about the same if not a smidge worse than my 2.0 140 on fuel. The stop start never gets a look in in the sticks, and the regenerative braking thing feels like slight misfire when the alternator kicks in when coasting. The sort of feeling I get driving the Mk2, sensitive to every single cough and splutter.
Red Mk6 gone replaced with a white Mk7 which has gone too. Green Mk2 here to stay.

I think its a genuine bluemotion any way to tell?, its a 1.6 rather than a 2.0 (140).

The "hardcore" bluemotion I have been driving the last two days. It is a very basic trim based on the s spec so plastic steering wheel is the big give away and no rear electric windows........no spare wheel as well.
