Speaker confusion!
« on: 28 September 2009, 20:19 »
Hey, picked up a cheap corsa as a daily. It had some infinity ref 6x9s at the rear so installed my headunit and thought all would be ok. Im only running the 6x9s as the rest of the speakers are factory and crackle! Anyway, the infinity 6x9s sound crap, no bass, crackly etc. I know the headunit is fine so assumed speakers, while music playing i disconnected one of the 6x9s and the other sounded amazing, deep bass, v good quality. Tried the same on the other, same result. Connected them both sounded crap again, played with the fader on the headunit and both speakers sound perfect on their own but together are awful, any ideas people as im at a loss! Thanks, james

Swap the positive and negative over on only one of the speakers.

It's called bass cancellation. It's caused by one speaker being out of phase. If that don't work not sure mate. Should do, give it a go.
