buckled wheel from dealers
« on: 09 September 2010, 18:06 »
picked the car up 2 months ago and took it in for road test after hearing a tapping/droning kind of noise. they diagnosed it as rear wheel bearing and replaced it.

On inspecting they also made me aware that the rear wheel has a slight buckle.

Now the car hasnt been smacked kerbed etc so i presume i bought this car with a buckled wheel?

The question is has anyone picked up a car and later noticed the wheel is buckled? surely they should change it under warranty?

thanks

Could be a manufacturing defect but more likely the car has had an off of some sort. I spun my lotus and hit a sloped kerb side on and buckled my rear alloy nicely.

It could have simply hit a reasonable sized pothole. Theres not much strength on the inner edge of the alloy and little tyre wall to help cussion the blow. I use to see slightly buckled wheels all the time when i was in the motortrade. Thats the downside of low profile tyres with wide wheels.
