central locking problems

i have a mk5 gt tdi, and rescently the driver's door doesnt respond to either the remote or interior lock buttons, only manually by key although this still locks all other doors too.
VW want £70 to run a diagnostic an that may not even pick it up.
does anyone in SW area have VAGCOM or something to the same effect to help me work this out?
im baffled :shocked:

i did post this in the mk5 but no one replies, and i used to have a mk4
