Not sure I would.  Looking forward to seeing the M135i post some time up on fastlaps.com.  I reckon it's going to be very quick.

I just had a test drive of a 118d m sport at the dealership where I brought mine this morning. This is the closest car the dealer had to what I ordered. The car was beautiful to drive. I was so impressed by the diesal engine I almost felt changing my order from petrol 125i. The steering felt perfectly weighted with excellent feedback. Obviously I didn't really have a chance to push the car as I was with the sales guy but it felt very capable indeed. The interior quality was excellent and realy well layed out.

My dad had the previous generation 1 series 120d m sport a few years back. I drove this car a few times and never really felt wowed by it. The car I drove today felt like a completely different beast.

I felt really comfortable driving the F20 from the moment I switched the engine on and turned the wheel. I came away with lots of smiles and knew I'd made the perfect choice in changing from my beloved GTi.

Diesel rules Martin that would have been the car for me , congrats mate !! You still gonna be around the forum?

Oh no you wouldn't as Spartacus only allows people to buy 135's

Yes I will definitely stick around on the forum as I enjoy the banter, the people and I'm still a big fan of the golfs.

Jim

I am totally with you on that but it would need to be a 3rd car.

We have an ML as the family car and the GTi / M135i as the run about  / business trips so I need to have 5 doors.

I had a Boxster for a while while the kids were smaller and selling that was like losing my left arm, I missed it so much but with 2 boys the weekends are planned with military precision around pick ups, football, parties etc so both cars have to be 5 doors and a boot.

Now I do have a birthday coming up, its a major one and will be treating myself to a car for myself that I can keep in the garage, use at the weekends and shower with love and affection. That will probably be a Honda NSX, Manual, Targa roof if I can find one ! If I can do that I will have fulfilled one of my boyhood dreams.
Mk6 GTi - returned to leasing company after 3 great years and replaced with :

Mk5 GTi - Edition 30 - Revo 1 and some tweaks - 310 bhp. Its a better car than the Mk6  - Now sold and replaced with :

Mk6 R - Rising Blue 5 Door. Won't be standard 270bhp for long

Family Car : Mercedes ML420 with 360 bhp
Looking at Porsche Macan as replacement
