I have traded in the GTI as part of the deal. However, I will also advertise it on here, Pistonheads and Autotrader. To make the car more attractive I will be selling including the Smoked R Rear LED's ( unless BMW take the car in which case I will sell separately with Raffe for first refusal ).

Congrats mate, thats pretty much bang on the spec i'd have as well except it would have to be blue!!

What are people's thoughts on the new Toyota GT86, suspecting not a huge interest but I quite like the look of it and what it's about?

The reviews have been very poor and not about the lack of power that most would expect, more on the lack of feel and it's not the drivers car it was said to be.

Jim

Really, what reviews have you been reading

http://www.evo.co.uk/carreviews/evocarreviews/276016/toyota_gt_86_review.html

Glowing review from what I can gather.

Guessing there are more badge enthusiasts on this site than general car enthusiasts.

In EVO magazine 170, there was a very thorough 25 page write up of the Subaru BRZ (similar car to the Toyota) in a group test after five full days of testing.

They gave it 3.5 stars out of 5 in that test which is weird when you see the link above  :undecided:

Basically they said it has great handling but has one big let down - it's engine -  which has very little torque.

The figures are :-

197 bhp at 7000rpm
151 lb ft at 6400-6600rpm

I think the high rpm at which those peak figures are achieved tells the story.

The preface to the mag says - On first impressions the BRZ feels sublime.  However it's a car that edges further away from greatness the longer you spend time with it.

It's been pointed out on PH that if you add (big brakes, leather & xenons) to the 125i you can get a 135i (which has these as standard)
Now = 2011 MK6 GTI - Reflex Silver
Past = 2006 MK5 GTI - Tornado Red and Solid Black

Leather is standard on UK M135i cars (though not in Europe)
