I have been offered 13.5k on mine trade in against the S3. This is more than I was expecting (paid 25k 2.5 years ago). I've have not negotiated anything off the Audi as yet. Will do that at the dealership face to face. The VAG finance deal offered on the Audi is working out the same monthly payments as the GTI on HP.

I'm tempted to act now before the new mk7 comes out and before I increase the mileage on mine as I've now done 43k.

Decisions, decisions. Shall speak with the bank manager tonight (the wife) and then arrange a test drive.

You may find the S3 lacking feel in terms of feedback.

No they don't use runflats

When I test drove the MK5 TDI and my current A3 I found the MK5 had better feedback through the steering wheel; mine feels like its hardly connected sometimes  :undecided:  There's no doubting it grips but it doesn't exactly communicate that fact very well!

Went for the A3 though as it was the better overall package in terms of spec, price etc

It's an Aldi. Therefore it's styled by a three year old and nobody, ever, will let you out of a side street. Plus it'll have been driven constantly at a million miles an hour all its life 2 inches from the car in front.

Sorry, no offence, but I can's stand Aldis. Wouldn't be seen dead in one.

Now, that Carlton, however......

You should have gone for the 35 Martin , its better in every way over the S3
