That's a very similar colour to the R's rising blue but doesn't look half as good on the Bimmer. That's the only downside for me in general with the M135 is the asthetics. However, time will tell, maybe the look will grow on me when I see one in the flesh. Without doubt that certainly is one hell of a car!

I'd still take the R, better looking inside and out, four wheel drive, four real seats and if the local BMW customer service is anything to go by I'd stay well clear,
A mate had a clutch replaced by them recently, they broke a drive shaft seal and it emptied oil all over his nice tarmac drive. Another friend has had a 3 series with them for two weeks, as it keeps stopping, they still don't know what's wrong with it but it looks like a Vanos problem, that should be a nice repair bill.

I probably won't be changing for another two years or so and will wait to see what the MK7 R is going to be like but likely to go in that direction.

Looks good value for the performance but that front is still a hideous piece of design by BMW

By far the best value hot hatch out there from a performance point of view, Rocco R or an M135i....

Can't wait to test drive one.

I've driven a scirocco R and was very impressed by the amount of grunt it had! This was before i picked up my GTI and was driving a 1.4s mk5 at the time so not sure how i'd feel driving it now having being a little underwhelmed by the Golf R i test drove?

I'm really liking the 1 series now and would like a go in the 135i although i looking at the fugures for the 125i i think that would suit me better.
Currently pootling around in our family wagen, a Tiguan SEL 😂

Nah, you need the M135i mate, it will have the M performance parts and much better spec. Oh and 320 ponies.....

The big downer for me would be traction .. or lack of it.  (Read EVO's long term test of the 1M Coupe)

The second is the looks, but that's subjective.

Good price though ... let's hope that keeps the whole hot hatch sector prices low.
