Looks ok but £24k for a diesel Astra!!! Wtf has the world come to.

Jim

I think it looks OK too, but agree, £24k sounds a lot of money for a diesel Astra. But then who pays list price for a new Vauxhall?

Broadspeed are quoting a discount of over £6k off the list price for the 163 bhp (diesel) version bringing the price down to around £16.6k. If you're able to get a similar discount off the higher performance, twin turbo version, then it sounds good value at £17.6k - £18k.

Can I just say that this isn't exactly a standard Astra. I reckon it looks pretty nice and with just under 200bhp from a Bi-turbo diesel it's certainly got some go.

How much would the equivalent GTD be with 25bhp less?

Agree with what your saying but part of it is the name, the costs wont be what it says. Astras even brand new are a lot cheaper than the list price, with regards to a VW the build quality compared to a Vauxhall is night and day. My previous car was a Vauxhall.

I wouldn't have another Vauxhall, the last one I had was very unreliable broke down too many times

FYI I had an email from our local Skoda garage to say that the Mrs Yeti has been found after a 7 month search (ordered early Dec 2011) - they have her in captivity and she's on here way to the UK, expecting her to land at the local Skoda dealer in the next two weeks.

Now do we wait for the new reg?

After  me buying a Tiguan and we both love driving it my wife has a abs unit fault on the Astra cost mega bucks to sort and vauxhall only will pay 20% , I had a run in an Insignia , while its an ok car its not the quality of VW (We have had vauxhall for 20 yrs and never had any major bills until noo ) so the Astra  its getting changed for a GTD 170 demo next week .
