Any idea if that going to be the same engine as the current R ?

I would put loads of money on that the MK7 will NOT have the "old" engine.

CAR Magazine this month has done a comparison on the Astra GTC VXR, Focus ST and an artists impression of the MK7. Personally I hope it will look more radical that what they envisage because you've gotta give GM credit as the GTC looks tidy and will be a strong contender in the hot hatch niche. Not sure about the ST as the version photographed has too many doors.

i wouldn't put loads of money on Vw not using the current engine knowing them, but id be interested to see what different engine they would use, maybe a detuned TTRS engine at the rumoured 291 bhp ?

I'm sure I read in that article that the ST would only come as a 5 door.
Red Mk6 gone replaced with a white Mk7 which has gone too. Green Mk2 here to stay.

The Mk3 Focus ST will be available as a 5 door hatch and as an estate (wagon).

In the past I had 5 Vauxhall cars and they were all pretty good cars, admittedly tho the build quality compared to German cars is crap.
