WOW! Now that's a top choice mate.

Very nice indeed.

My mouth was wide open and I was drooling when looking at those pictures

Thanks mate. The dealer tells me that I have the last one issued to the UK. I did stir the decision around for quite a while before committing so I feel particularly lucky.

Just been told my T5 Transporter has just left the factory to be shipped over here. Should be ready by mid Feb but will wait for the new reg in March.

The spec, I think this is it all.

LWB 140hp panel (soon to have side windows fitted)
Air-con
Sportline alloys
Twin captain seats with dual armrests
Appearance pack
Parking sensors
Deep black pearl paint
Tailgate rather than barn doors
Thatch alarm
Bumper and headlight protectors

Getting excited, first new vehicle for me. I know some won't like it as its not a gti but this will be great for work, family duties and weekends away. Will be using it for camping at the British GP this summer.

The Scirocco is one of the ugliest cars on the market IMO, I wouldn't waste my hard earned on one.  If I was going in the R direction it would have to be a Golf R.

I think it looks good in the R guise. It doesn't have 4 wheel drive does it? I know the price is higher on the Golf R but I'd still go for the Golf R

I have driven the Scirocco R and it is fantastic to drive handling is excellent sounds brilliant and is very quick. I have also driven the Golf R on extended test drives and would choose this over the Scirocco simply because it is more practical. However I have not gone for either as the best on the bunch (IMO) is the ED 35 which I have ordered (5dr DSG in Carbon Grey 19" Glendales plus more options) and it will be delivered in early March.
Current: GTI Edition 35 Candy White 5dr DSG 19" Glendale, RCD510+DAB, Dynaudio, Storage Pack, Parking Sensors

Gone: Edition 35, GTI Mk6, Edition 30, GTI Mk4, GTI Mk3, GTI Mk2 and my favourite the UR quattro
For those that dont know DSG is an electronically controlled dual-clutch multiple-shaft manual gearbox
