Note DSG is very hard to find - must are slush-o-matics as it only came out 2010 /11 in the tig

One of these would be nice..... http://carscoop.blogspot.com/2011/11/2012-volkswagen-tiguan-sports-up-with.html

It's been a while since I last posted on here!

My last VW was an Edition 30 and that pretty much was my perfect car, but I didn't relise this until I'd sold it!

I bought it new back in May 2007, 3dr, manual, Xenons, Sunroof, PDC's, Highline, Ipod Armrest and MFSW. It went very well, returned good fuel consumption and fitted in with my life style of mountain biking, walking and camping holidays in the south of France and the Alps very well.

When the ED reached 3yrs old and had done 40k I then thought, right, time for a change. As I'd been running GTi's for about 10yrs (mk4 GTI 180hp, Mk5 GTi 200hp) I wanted a complete change so I bought a 1 yr old BMW 135i M Sport. A truely 'great' car and the engine is simply stunning. 309Hp, twin Turbo 6 cylinder, the power is linear, creamy and the sound is gorgeous. It was fitted with run flats and it bounced and tram lined all over the place and the wet weather grip was 'sh!te'. I changed all 4 tyres for non run flats and things improved. But after 10mths I sold it, I couldn't put my finger on it but we just never really jelled.

I looked at getting back into a Mk6 GTi and just couldn't justify the price!

I'm currently running a Mini R56 (58 plate ) John Cooper Works!! It's brilliant fun and the engine is very similar in character to the Ed30 and the handling (again I've got rid of the Run Flats) is great fun, the running costs are low, if I behave myself then I easily get 38 - 40mpg......BUT it has no interior space for carrying passengers, tents and I can 'JUST' squeeze my mountain bike in the boot if I totally disassemble it!!

So, right now I'm thinking of getting back in to a VW, this could either be in the form of a Scirroco R or a Golf R.....or if my sensible head is on then it'll be back to continue my long and content relationship with the legend of all hot hatches, the GTi

My left nut is telling me to buy a Tiguan at the moment. 4WD DSG a must.

Just had a look on VW's website under new cars and can't see the R-Line version? Has this model been discontinued?????

p.s. right nut saying another buy another GTI

Both my nuts told me to get a Golf R, but my arsehole had decided on another GTI. The arsehole won the argument because it was sitting on top of my wallet...

I did say I'd buy an R next...

Was going to post some pictures up a while ago but she has been tucked away in high security storage for winter so didn't have opportunity. As the weather was reasonable on the weekend and I felt like a drive, I went and got her. Although the car wasn't dirty, I decided a quick clean with some snow foam and spruce up wouldn't go amiss, also gave me an excuse to play with the pressure washer.

Thanks Jim. Am totally smitten with her. I did forfeit the right to have a difference of opinion with my wife for the next 20 years to get my hands on the car though.
