Just a quick question, I just read somewhere that the engine noise function (set on driving modes) also makes the exhaust louder as well as making the soundaktor buzz.
Is that true? if so I would like to turn off the soundaktor but keep the louder exhaust if that is possible? I have Carista to turn the soundaktor down if I need to.
The car is a 2016 GTI performance pack with manual box.
Many thanks

Nope, the exhaust is not changed only the soundaktor. The GTI does not have valves in the exhaust only the R does.
-
Does on the mk8 and also does on the mk7 gtd with "sport and sound" (rare option because vw suck at describing what you get with options)
-
Thanks for the clarification. I am not too worried about it, but it would have been nicer to have a louder exhaust without modifying the car and increasing the insurance premiums.

Anti Drone Res delete is the way.
Soundactuator thing just works inside the car using the windscreen as a flat panel speaker & sending vibrations in to the car .

That's the way I went and love the sound....

Res delete is superb, the only thing I dont like is the MK7 tail pipes are too small, but there is no way to change that unless you replace it for a new system at great expense...

If those fit a 335i/335d along with the GTI then logic would suggest that other 335i/335d items would also fit the GTI.
I bet there are a few others available.

Unfortunatley the original GTi pipes are 3" diameter, these wont fit :undecided:

I had that issue, but great expense was worth it.... :smug:
