I've managed to do it now with a bit of force they just pull off! lol  but i've just ended up replacing the whole unit with the 1 the dials come with because my speedo light is flickering the new1 works fine  but now the car keeps cutting out & saying immobilizer activated on the display  how do i get around this? do i have to take it2 vw & no idea of the cost? :undecided: does any body know? thanks.

youll need your secret key code if you wanna code in new clocks, if you havent got it then its dealer time.

best just stick the old unit back in.

the speedo and tacho needles will come off if you turn them clockwise and pull when they reach the end.

As already said you will need the clocks coding in, What year is your car? If its 2001 onwards you will have to make sure the now ones are immo3 clocks,

To code them you will need the SKC, Anyone with Vagtacho can retrieve it for you, Then if they also have vagcom they would be able to code the new clocks in

The oft coding on the new clocks can be changed to match the ones of your current clocks, VW would probably charge a small fortune (If they would even do it using second hand parts)

Your best option is to find someone local to you with Vagcom/Vagtacho to fit & code them for you
