Well opt for the 3 year service plan £299 while its under warranty as that will work out cheaper? Thats what I did but it was only £250 when I ordered mine.

You will have to be on time and distance servicing to qualify for the service plan so every year or 10,000 miles which ever comes first.

But in that I do 20k/year so long life service is for me.

After 18k I get a service
but then I would only be 12k into my next year at the point the 30k mile threshold would be breached.  Would they service it at this point?  Or should I rag the nuts off it to bring the variable service indicator down to 15k and thus get the two services for £299?

Basically you do not qualify for the service plan if your set the car to longlife.

What you have to weigh up is on longlife will you spend more than £299 on servicing during that 30,000 miles. Also longlife is "upto 2 years or 20,000 miles" so it might tell you to bring it in after 10,000 14,000 17,000 when ever it decides its due a service so lets say you have 2 longlife services during that 30,000 miles then I am sure they will total more than £299. I would have it done under the service plan for £299 then on the last inclusive service change the cars regime to longlife.
