My car is covered with it and cause it's in black colour it's more prominent. It needs cleaning asap. I guess need to put car cover to keep it safe from it and use second car till it's sorted

Getting sick and tired of it now, got up this morning after it was bucketing down last night to find my car covered in the crap. The car will get a good bath tonight, a nice little rub down and a good cuddle from me though

p.s. Does this ash eat away the wax layer ? I'm just wondering if its worthwhile using my Red Mist on it as a top up after washing it tonight ?

everything eats at the wax layer... thats why it is your sacrificial layer and not your clearcoat

looking at the deposits on the car I cleaned day before last I am not sure how much of it is ash and how much of it is pollen - either way it is better to be safe than sorry and certainly follow the guidelines above

i saw someone wearing one of those filter mask things yesterday that doctors wear... he clearly thinks this volcanic ash contains something impressive. My car is also covered in it again... after waxing yesterday! i may have to invest in a car cover if this ash is staying around for a while. around 100 years ago this thing lasted just under a year didnt it ? wondering if anyone else can confirm this as its only the rumour on the street round here.
