Wise move, forget the Audi, mate has one and is selling it as it seems to be at that age where he seem's to be forever replacing parts.  Same goes for the Alfa.. Octy VRS FTW me thinks. :afro:

To be honest you may have a point.  Replacement cars usually always come with expensive surprises, followed by regret.  :lipsrsealed:

He also knew the wheels were square in the shell and aligned correctly and that it had Bilstein struts and springs on each corner.

Lets get this quite clear, it's been an awesome car. I just have an itch for something quicker, bigger and more me. Not much chance of a change until January though.

can understand this... why don't you get your mk2 back up and running and take that out to 'a track' somewhere to get your fix in the meantime?

I've already abandoned the idea of doing much with the MKII this year, it needs too much time and work before I'd be happy it would survive the abuse. Plan is to get it running again over the summer, maybe do the hill climb at Retro Rides Gathering and then work towards getting it set for a better year next year.

Ideally next year will be a new daily, run the MKII as an 8v over the sumer at a few trackdays and then converted to running an ABF on ITB's during winter 2012/13.
