Right, a bit of an update  .

Got given a spare front bumper so the old mind started going 

I cut the numberplate recess out, got the soldering iron out and melted it into it's new place  I then started applying some filler 



Smoothed it over and sent it off for a bit of a colour match

While it was there I measured up and made mesen a little bracket at work 




Then I got the bumper back today 



Took the old one off.....



And popped the new one on



You can just see the little bracket under the bumper.

And then spoilt it by putting the numberplate back on 



Only 2x cuts and a burnt finger too

I think it looks better with the plate on. It's where VW should have put it in the first place. Good work.

Top work, that's exactly how I plan to do my front bumper and number plate. That's a swish little bracket you've knocked up there, is it stainless?

Nick, the numberplate is growing on me now  Looks kinda OEM with it on.

Looks fine with the numberplate on and as said before, it's where they should have put it in the first place... relocated mine to a similar place as my bodykit allowed it.
