Going from historic Golf model changeovers the outgoing models often keep their values pretty well owing to the conservative nature of VW buyers and build times akin to continental drift.
After a few years of very strange market conditions whereby used cars went up in value and now have nosedived I wouldn’t want to gaze into my crystal ball right now @clarky.
My Clubby still booked at £30k last September and by mid-December had shed a further £8.5k at standard book prices. My current R at 3.5 months old will have lost £10k minimum and more likely £15k so hopefully won’t bomb too much further with the 8.5 launch
not that I have any plans to change even if I could remotely afford to (unless I decide to become “economically inactive” and buy an old sh!tter to run on a shoestring which is getting more tempting by the day)
