Can somone tell me the 0-60 time from a standard 1.8 Mk1 cabriolet. It is not the GTi model.
Thanks =)
-
do u know the year of manufacture and specific model?
-
Who cares, when you got a cab you just gotta cruise 8)
-
I dont believe it'll be much difference from the tin top equivelant. probably 0.5 sec at the most.
-
my cab does 0 - 60 in about 5.5 seconds at the moment. i think the speedo is slightly out ;D
-
Yeah, it should in about 4 dead ;D

I checked my speedo against the GPS snooper system, and found it to be reading 17% fast!! That will account for the excessively high MPG reading on the MFA too then!
-
dont notice-just cruise!-gib! ;D
Dinky

1.8 112Bhp GTI mk1 = 8.9secs to 60.
So the cab is prolly 9.5-10secs
cos its about 140kg heavier (check power-to-weight thread for its exact weight)
-
Faster than your Mk3 then Black..
;D ;D ;D
-
Lol! ;D ;D ;D
-
black gti - the original poster said he didnt own a gti. so how bout u have a guess at what vehicle he has before deciding on how fast it can go. :)
this thread is pointless without knowing what cab he actually owns ::)
-
Yep it is pointless!!
I think Black just likes stating facts and figures..
Tell me then black whats my 0-60?
-
Hi all, new to the board.
Mine does it in about 9.5 secs, and that's a GTI.
But it's going to get better....

That's my girl Dinky, I just need to agree with this again 8) If you go too fast people can't see how great your motor is 8)

when the 1.8 20v turbo lump goes in,
wouldnt have thought it'd fit... big engine those 20v T's
-
it definately goes in cos theres a couple of pics of a purple one on demonvw.co.uk, and theres a local vw specialist says he could do it no probs.
-
Golf on 20's,
If you go ahead with the 1.8 turbo into your ragtop make sure you keep us posted on progress. I considered doing it to mine, but have now moved the idea to the pipedreams section as there are too many other things in my life right now costing far too much money-including a driveway to park the old girl on!
Good luck if/when you go for it.
Michael (Only a little bit jealous!).
By the way, with regard to the 0-60 times, 15 secs feels fast with the roof down, especially on a cold day! I have know idea what my 1.6gli does it in.

hi mate, its all in progress at the moment, just sourced an 1.8T engine box and loom, just need to get my couple of tuning bits and bobs like dump valve, cams ect ect , but will let you know of any progress as it happens
