Today i spent some time cleaning up the engine bay. I invested £100 in a Dewalt grinder and put it too good use.

Spot the difference, answers on a post card

OK today The X5 was into BMW for another of its many many visits recently, so leaving the Employees holding the fort I spent some time removing the Dynamat, which the car is covered in, from the engine bay area.

Also removed the Battery tray and washer bottle holder ect.

The car is covered in this stuff

After a good seeing to with a Heat Gun, scraper and a quick introduction to the grinder.....Job Done

Removed Battery Tray

Picked up my Seats 2 day and took them bad boys straight to Transcal. They have done a lot of work for me in the past most recently in the X5 and did a first class retim, so obviously they were the only choice for the MK1 Project.

Had a long chat around colour choices and subtle mods as they are doing the dash and remaining interior...... Watch this space for one very special set of seats indeed.

Looking good - I was working on my Mk1 for 2 years. Got it on the road and drove it for a year. 1 week before it was coming off the road for the winter, I went into the back of someone. Now I need a new bonnet, N/S wing and slam-panel (front valence).

From your pics I can see a brand new slam panel - where did you get hold of it and how much? whats the fitting like? Bonnet and wing are easy to get hold of.
