Worn out clutch or normal for golfs?
« on: 12 August 2009, 20:18 »
I'm new to Golf ownership... have Mk1 GTi 1983 1.8. Question... the clutch seems to go out a long way before 'biting' - but then all ok. Not slipping, seems fine. Is this normal for GTi? Any comments much appreciated - thanks .... Monty

You could try adjusting the cable or it could be on its last legs.

I've had a go at adjustment - but think there's nothing left to adjust. Perhaps it will simply run out completely and I'll have no clutch. Not too expensive I hope...

Ta for advice... appreciated cheers

No worries, clutch is not to expensive or hard to do.
