you can buy sponge things that go on a 4 1/2 grinder.   they don't like 14,000 rpm   bit's fly off and twit you in the face,   have an el cheepo grinder with speed control it worked well on that for fixing my windscreen,   but to make the sponge thing go slow enough for paint the motor is running to slowly and gets quite upset 
all the VW's have gone bar 1.
